Apple has long been a trendsetter in the tech world, and its new store in Singapore is no different. It is a sight to behold. The store which opened its doors to the public on September 10, is a glimpse of the future of retail.

The store is located at the Marina Bay Sands in the heart of the city of Singapore. And it is the first Apple Store to be situated directly on a water body and offers uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic views of the city.

It features a glass dome with a video screen and a seating area for talks and tutorials. Underneath the dome, there is a board room for entrepreneurs and developers to meet with Apple team members. The first underwater boardroom. The store is housed in a first-of-its-kind, all-glass dome structure that’s fully self-supported, comprising 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical mullions for structural connection.

The glass inside is lined with custom baffles, each of which is designed differently to obscure the sun’s rays and provide the appearance of evening lighting. With trees surrounding the interior of the dome, Singapore’s lush garden city seeps into the store, adding additional shading and gentle shadows through the foliage.

The store is not only a feat of engineering but also a glimpse into the future of retail. With its sleek design and cutting-edge technology, the store is sure to be a big hit with shoppers.

At the top of the sphere is an oculus that allows sunlight, which Apple says was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. It’s something that the staff supply. consistent with Apple, the Marina Bay Sands’ 148-person team collectively speak 23 languages: a proven fact that makes the shop more welcoming to visitors than any architectural flourish.
